It is now time to add your school to our website. Click the button below and your school will be given a page where you can list your contact information, latest news, and an up-to-date schedule of prayer walks.
Every school system will be different in who will grant you permission. Permission will be granted by either the Principal, Superintendent or School Board. Please always be very respectful to the staff in seeking permission, opposition is normal in the beginning, but we have found that persistence and prayer have opened many doors we believed were closed.
It is very important to find a staff member or teacher from the school who will agree to open and close the doors at the prayer walks. The school officials will be more likely to grant permission if they know someone from their staff (such as a teacher) will agree to open and close the doors.
Show the video, involve your local church officials or teachers, involve the local FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) in your school or local church youth groups. Students have a high success record in getting these prayer walks started.
Points to make to school officials as you seek permission:
1) Prayer walks are non-denominational
2) Prayer Walks are during hours when school is not in session, one hour, once a month on Sunday
3) We are not trying to influence any kids, we are meeting after hours and praying for them.
4) Direct them to our website.
5) If students are involved, allow them to help in getting permission. Student led events gain approval most of the time.
6) Set your prayer walk dates as Every Third Sunday of each month. This is the official Sunday for Revive Prayer Walks.
If you are opposed with the statement "separation of church and state" please send a direct message to Wade. Any school allowing other groups to meet in their facilities after hours can not discriminate against you on religious grounds only.
If you have permission to be inside, that is great! If not, and you plan to pray outside that is great too! But don't give up, you may soon have a door opened for you.
Plan out dates for the walks for a full year avoiding holiday weekends, one day at month, one hour on that day. Then, update your school's Revive page and don't forget to spread the word about your page!
Now it is time to send out information packs to every church regardless of denomination in your community. Gain a list of churches from your local church organizations and determine how many packets you will need.
You should include the following in your packet:
1) A copy of our DVD. We encourage you to copy and distribute our DVD as much as you want. Want to copy the DVD yourself?

If you do not have the capacity to duplicate DVDs you may order them. Simply send a direct message to Wade with the number of DVDs you need and your shipping address. They are $1 each with free shipping! Each DVD arrives individually packed and ready to distribute!
2) Include a cover letter
3) Include a flyer for posting of the dates of the walk. A sample flyer was enclosed in your information pack. You have permission to duplicate that or make your own flyer.
4) Mail or hand deliver these packets and begin talking about the Revive Prayer Walks to everyone.
5) Ordering business cards with the dates of the walks and our website listed is a very good inexpensive tool to get the word out. Prayer Warriors can carry them in their wallets or purses so they will remember walks each month. We recommend vistaprint.com. Cards at typically placed at local businesses, churches and handed out at prayer walks.
You local newspaper may agree to run an article about the upcoming prayer walks and also may agree to come cover the event. Prayer walks have made front page news in several local papers and are a great tool to get the word out.
Those who are helping you organize may want to call on churches asking for a few minutes to speak and show the video during church services. Youth or adults make a very strong impression when they do this in person.
Ask churches to advertise the prayer walks on their church signs.
Many times, students are allowed to put up signs at school promoting the prayer walks.
Buy shirts! We have found one of the best ways to get the word out is by wearing the Revive shirt or sweatshirt. Some choose to take orders at the prayer walks and buy in bulk on the website.
Be creative, you are the coordinator, seek God and He will open doors!
1) Once everyone arrives, welcome and quick announcements.
2) Ask if any teachers, students or parents have specific things to pray about.
3) Give directions where prayer warriors are allowed to go and where they are not allowed to go.
4) Encourage people to feel free to pray as they wish: sit alone on the bleachers or benches, gather in small or large groups to pray, walk and touch lockers and doors as they pray. Whatever they feel most comfortable doing.
5) Ask someone to open in a large group prayer
6) Then begin the prayer walk, people will go their own way praying with the understanding to meet back approximately 10 minutes before the prayer walk ends.
7) When you meet back, allow people to say anything they want briefly. Normally, there are some tears flowing at this time and people are emotional and want to say something. When that is complete you may either sing a short song together everyone knows or dismiss in a final prayer by one person.
8) Make sure you leave the school as you found it.
As the coordinator, you must keep the fires burning and keep this on the minds of your prayer warriors. Encourage them to sign up on the Revive email list. We send out updates weekly about what is going on and we send reminders each week of the prayer walks coming soon. That is why all material you create should have our website included.
We have a special postcard that can be sent which is very inexpensive or we encourage you to print your own. If you want to order postcards send a direct message to Wade. The cost will be $25.00 per 50 postcards.
Continue to visit churches with speakers and use your local newspaper any way possible.
Pray! Always remember the main reason Revive exists is because God has called Christians to come to our schools and pray. Make sure that these walks do not become a social event. Make sure people focus on prayer the short time they are at the school. There may be times when it seems this may not work or no one is interested but we must not give up on this generation. God will respond to our prayers at our schools no matter the quantity of people that show up. We truly believe God will spread Revive across America and you are a major part in what may be the prayers that lead to a national revival of our students and schools.
